Was looking at my old game blogs and realized that I am still the same old person,
minus gaming laptop,
& "screenshot"-ing in different medium.

I need to explore more 'maps'.
Time to save up.
Yolo dinner at BLT Steak.
It was Saturday, May 30th 2015,
when 7.8 magnitude earthquake became my first ever earthquake experience.
Was hungry, but too scared to go back to my room to change clothes,
so I popped to the fancy restaurant next door with tank top, tattered short jeans, and hotel slippers...

Asahi Beer Tower, 31st May 2015
The stranger next to me shared how he was sitting on the same spot yesterday night,
while the tremor happened.
He showed me a picture of Tokyo Sky Tree during the earthquake on his iPad.
I swear it was at least bent by 10°.

Sushi brunch at Asakusa
What I learnt today: we can drink Miso soup directly from the bowl!
(Usually we use spoon in Singapore & Indonesia)

Bought this ice cream and learnt that it is rude to eat while walking on public streets.
Took the excuse to make friends with people eating next to the ice cream booth.
#profit

First time in Maid cafe, Akihabara, 31st May
Because I am an awesome female friend, instead of dragging my heterosexual male friend to butler cafe, I showed him mercy and brought him to a maid cafe instead.

@Hotel room, Roppongi, 3rd June 2015
<48 hours before my first big event. Was dragging myself to keep going past 2AM.
It would be rewarding once 4th June passed, I told myself.

Osaka, 5th June 2015 @やきとり大吉 東三国店
Heavy rain. Drenched from top to bottom.
Freshly grilled Yakitori, plum liquor and friendly shop keepers.
Summed up to a net positive happiness.

The shop lady asked my name and greeted me by name when I came back again 5 days after.
Super impressed.

Kyoto, 6th June 2015
Arashimaya bamboo groove
I bid farewell to 5 new friends to move on to my next destination.
On the way to train station, I stopped by for this pretty popsicle.

I ended up bumping into them again and we went to Fushimi Inari Taisha together.
United by food.

...& separated by food.

@Fushimi Inari Taisha
I was distracted by street snacks and my friends was looking for proper meal.
Hence, the food do us part.
PS: we still like each other's food pics on IG/FB.

Osaka, 6th June 2015
@Belgian Beer Festival, Osaka.
The plan was to watch sunset on top of Umeda Sky Building.
But people improvise plans when they discovered something better: beers. and festival.

Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine, 7th June 2015
Bought this matching colour sesame ice cream for this photo.
Because vanity!

Okayama Korakuen, 7th June 2015
Felt like a senile citizen enjoying the time pass with this green tea after a day-long journey:
from Osaka to Hiroshima Peace Memorial, Hiroshima Castle, Okayama Castle..
and finally Okayama Korakuen...

Kobe, 7th June 2015
Craving for Kobe beef on the way back to Osaka.
Googled "best kobe beef restaurant at kobe" and found Wakkoqu: 5 mins walk away from the Shinkansen station.
I secretly worship the person who invented Shinkansen unlimited pass.

Nara, 8th June 2015
Enjoying matcha ice cream while Nara deers biting my pants for food
Lesson learnt: deers are cute, but they bite.
Lesson learnt 2: deers will chase you for your matcha ice cream.

Shizuoka, 9th June 2015
Impulsive, unplanned stop at Shizuoka brought me to.. Sunpu Castle.
Saw school girls bought this ice cream at a traditional shop.
Lesson learnt: never judge ice cream by its appearance.

Mishima, 9th June 2015
Another impulsive food-induced journey.
This time, unagi and random googling brought me to a restaurant called 桜家 in Mishimahirokoji.
Lesson learnt: If I open a restaurant one day, I should consider display ads at TripAdvisor.

Kakegawa Kachoen, 10th June 2015
Mixed feeling while enjoying the heavenly indoor garden.
Why do all good things come to an end?

Tokyo, 10th June 2015
Last dinner at Haneda Airport, before flying back to Singapore
:'(
Saturday, 1st Aug 2015
Saw Scoot's promotion: SGD 300+ for 2 ways flight to Osaka/Tokyo by November.
Writing this blog as I cried over my wallet & annual leave balance.
As an effort to get to know people from different teams, Google SG office organised a grub crawl, starting from our floor.

So last Friday, all team in lvl 29F are preparing food for Googlers who are visiting their area.

Meet our lazy, but nyummy offerings :p~
#doritosandcheeseftw

And meet epic food collections from another team in 29F
I cried of happiness.
*sweet tooth*
